Have you searched the internet looking for a good realtor only to find yourself going through pages and pages of the same thing?  Don't get me wrong, the internet is a great thing, it's just sometimes a little much to wade through.  With all the choices of internet realtors, how does one get the best realtor?  Let's examine what things you need to look for in a good internet realtor.

Length of service.

Most internet realtors didn't just start out on the internet.  Many have been established in their cities before moving to the internet; some do both.  Either way, find out how long the realtor has been servicing clients.  You want to make sure the realtor your using is experienced, especially if they're not located in your area.

Local affiliates.

Does the internet realtor, if not directly located in your area, have local affiliates, partners or colleagues that can help you out if you need face time with someone?  Even though most questions you may have for your realtor can be answered one the phone or through email, it's always reassuring to know there's someone you can talk to face to face if needed.

Commission.

Surely using an internet realtor should have advantages, including a lowered commission rate.  Ask your internet realtor what commission they expect.  If it isn't as low as what you can find in your area, you may want to see if they will negotiate.  If not, don't pursue their help.

Coverage area.

Probably the biggest advantage you'll find with an internet realtor is the ability to network all over the country.  For individuals that are moving across country, this is definitely an advantage.  There are others out there who are unsure of where they want to live; internet realtors can offer those people a direction based on their desires or needs.  With local realtors you don't generally get that.

Customer Service.

Just because a company is based on the internet doesn't mean customer service isn't a top priority.  This is especially true with internet realtors.  Since their service directly effects customer service they are very aware of how their customers feel.  When you find an internet realtor poke around to see if you can find out what others have thought of them.  This will give you a good idea of what you can expect from their services. 

There are so many reasons to use internet realtors, but only if you feel comfortable with the realtor you've found.  As with any profession out there, you need to be aware that not every internet realtor has your best interests in mind.  Be cautious, be inquisitive and be smart when you're looking for a realtor on the internet and you won't go wrong.
